Original Programme Notes :

Sonata for Violin and Piano is composed in a traditional 19th Century style with much use of rubato and flexible tempos. Woven into this work are themes, harmony and phrasing that show their provenance in Celtic and psychedelic music, in addition to 19th Century music. The first movement is redolent of sonata form but with the recapitulation integrated into the development section.
