This work is a companion piece to "Purple Gong Orange Tam-tam" for 12 alto saxophones, and again, like that work is influenced by late 60s psychedelic music, again with hidden references to some of the classic recordings of that period. The thematic material of the slow central section, and the beginning of the third section are similar to the equivalent sections in the other work.
